Why do people look up when they are thinking?

Obviously I've seen people doing it before now, I just didn't take note down to write it here..

'Just thought it a bit weird, where people look up..
                                             It's as if they're in a cartoon and they are looking into their brain/head..
Anyone noticed?

    I think a lot of the way people react to situations comes from movies.

    Hmm, I don't really do that. In fact, I do the complete opposite when I'm thinking deeply. Perhaps I'm just being weird, lol.

    Many people psychologically think that their thoughts are really floating above their head. You look up to spot the one you're looking for!
